Choosing an Artificial Christmas Tree

It’s that time of year again to get that Christmas tree up and decorated! Some people love choosing a fresh live tree every year, cutting it down themselves and bringing it home. Others, love knowing that they can just buy a Christmas tree one time, and have an easy setup process every year.  If you’ve chosen to go the artificial route, here are some things to look for when choosing that perfect Christmas tree for your home.

What Size Do You Want?

One of the first things you will need to decide on is the size of the tree. Make sure you measure the space where your tree will be standing. Measure the width and the height and picture a tree standing there. Do you want something that is wide and bushy? Or tall and narrow. Knowing the size of your space will help you determine which artificial Christmas tree is right for you.

What Shape Do You Want?

There are several shapes of artificial Christmas trees available in the market. If you know the size you’re looking for, then it’s time to choose the shape. Do you want busy needles, thin needles, bushy branches, thin branches or something very narrow? Sometimes browsing through images online will help you determine which type of shape you like best.

What Lighting Should you Choose?

Many artificial Christmas trees are prelit. When buying a prelit tree, it’s important to look at the types of lights they come with. Do you like a soft white glow or many colors?  You will want to choose something with LED lighting as it’s safer and easier on the electricity bill. LED lights also don’t emit warmth which can also be an added benefit.
